What is Pre-Production?

At the pre-production stage, every step of actually shooting a film is carefully designed and planned. This includes creating a shooting schedule and a production budget covering everything required to produce the finished film, researching and choosing locations, as well as securing insurance to protect against possible delays or accidents. It is also the point where the producer starts to assemble the film crew and all the actors are chosen.
